Born in Candana, Nora Fatehi faced major hardships when she moved to India. She had only Rs 5,000 in her pocket and did various odd jobs to survive in the city.
She worked in a hookah bar, got bullied and faced a lot of struggle during her initial days. The Dilbar star is one of the best dancers in the country and she started her career with Roar: Tigers of the Sunderbans in 2014.
In an interview, the actress revealed that her auditions were traumatic as she was learning to speak Hindi and sometimes would make a fool out of herself.
She said, “People were unforgiving; they would laugh in my face. I would sit in the rickshaw and I would be howling, and the driver would be like ‘Are you okay?’”
Nora recalled the time when she faced massive rejection from casting directors. Some even told her to go back to her country. She said that it was hurtful to see such reactions.
Nora once said that her community (Morrocon people) and she admired Bollywood celebs and Indian cinema played an important role in her life.
She even recalled the time she faced poverty and had to take odd jobs to meet daily needs. The actress said, “Whatever opportunities I have got have been very last minute, and thankfully I was prepared. I wouldn’t go out and socialize and party like all the other girls did and have a boyfriend. I’d lock myself in a room every day, learn the language, watch TV and practice in my room. I missed out on my brother’s wedding, his birthday, everything. So many people were like, ‘You want to be like the next Katrina Kaif?.” As per reports, Nora charges Rs 2 crore for one song.
