The 2025 Oscars are finally here. After an impressive awards season, it all leads up to this grand celebration: the 97th Academy Awards, which will be hosted by the hilarious Conan O'Brien at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The red carpet is already buzzing with the biggest stars in Hollywood flaunting their impeccable style. For the unversed, celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Goldie Hawn, and Selena Gomez are all set to present awards, and to make it even more thrilling, live performances will be staged by Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo (also nominated for Best Actress) and Ariana Grande (who bagged her first-ever Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress). But before the award ceremony begins, we tell you what the stars wore.
As Ariana Grande’s stylist, Mimi Cuttrell, mentioned on Instagram, her version is custom. It was more sparkly than what fans saw on the runway, featuring over 190,000 crystals. Ariana choosing the brand didn’t shock her fans because she wore a look from the same collection for a recent photoshoot. She finished the look by opting for a diamond necklace and a natural makeup look, and chose to wear her long locks in a tight bun.

Cynthia Erivo, who has been nominated for her role as Elphaba in Wicked, paid tribute to her character's iconic transformation into the Wicked Witch of the West with this stunning look. Cynthia opted for a black gown which featured an oversized collar and dramatic sleeves. She accessorised the look with multiple earrings and ensured her makeup looked minimal and natural.
Both Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo kicked off the 2025 Oscars in style with an impressive and flawless performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
