Currently, Sonu Nigam is ruling the headlines because of the Bengaluru Concert controversy. The singer was at the receiving end after a video of his went viral on social media. The video had a fan demanding a Kannada song. However, his reaction linking the request allegedly to the Pahalgam Terror attack led to a major controversy. Now, Sonu Nigam has penned an open letter sharing his side of the story as the controversy has gone out-of-control with KFCC demanding an apology from the singer for the people of Karnataka.

In a lengthy note on Instagram, Sonu Nigam mentioned about his unprecedented love for the language and people of Karnataka. He mentioned about singing Kannada songs in concerts when in Karnataka. But he added that he isn't a young man to take humiliation. He wrote, "However, I am not a young lad to take humiliation from anyone. I am 51 years old, in the second half of my life and am entitled to take offence for someone as young as my son threatening me directly in front of thousands in the name of language that too Kannada which is my second language when it comes to my work. That too right after my first song of the concert! He provoked a few more." Sonu Nigam further mentioned that he politely asked everyone to let him continue with the concert as it is planned. However, the people were 'hell bend on creating a ruckus'. The Sandese Aate Hain singer also mentioned that he loathes anyone who tries to create hate in the name of language, caste or religion. He then left it on the people of Karnataka to decide who was at fault.

Meanwhile, as per reports, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has demanded an unconditional apology from Sonu Nigam for his remarks during the concert. Reportedly, in a press conference, President M Narasimhalu said that in a week's time, KFCC will decide whether a lifetime ban has to be imposed on the singer.
