Bigg Boss 18 grand finale took place on January 19, with several celebrities gracing the event. Popular names including Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Veer Pahariya were among the special guests for the show. Akshay Kumar too was expected to attend, as he planned to promote his upcoming film Sky Force. Although the actor arrived on set, he left without filming his segment. The reason for his exit was Salman Khan.
At a recent press conference in Delhi, Akshay explained the situation. He revealed that Salman Khan was running late due to a 'personal reason'. Since Akshay had prior commitments, he couldn’t wait for Salman to arrive. Akshay was quoted saying, "I was running late for something. I spoke to Salman and he was stuck with something personal. He told me that he would be late by around 40 minutes. But I had to leave because I had a prior commitment."

As revealed by Salman Khan on the show, Akshay on set promoting his upcoming movie, but he had to leave because he (Salman) was late and Akshay had other work commitments to fulfil. Salman khan said, “Akki is also in the film. I got a little late, and he had to leave for another function, so he left.” HT City had earlier revealed that Akshay left the venue as he had test screenings for Jolly LLB 3 to be part of.
Akshay also clarified that all is well between him and Salman and they spoke over the phone. "Mujhe jana pada… However, we spoke about it," Akshay said. During the finale episode, Salman Khan had mentioned that Akshay had to leave as he had another event to attend.
Though Akshay could not promote Sky Force on Bigg Boss 18, his co-star Veer Pahariya did. The debutant graced the show and spoke about the upcoming film and also carried out the elimination task. Veer left everyone stunned as he showcased his singing prowess.
