Kim Soo Hyun has been embroiled in a scandal for his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Amid the growing controversy, Soo Hyun's agency, GOLDMEDALIST, issued a formal statement regarding legal action against YouTuber Se Eui.
Kim Soo Hyun’s controversy seems to have no end. The actor was accused of having a romantic relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. Reportedly, Soo Hyun was dating Sae Ron when she was just 15 years old and he was 27.
Amid the growing controversy, Kim Soo Hyun released an emotional statement at a press conference, but the actor's tears fell flat on the public, and netizens called it fake. However, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency filed a legal complaint against the cyber wrecker.
As per Soo Hyun’s agency, the legal team is all set to take strict legal action against those responsible for malicious and defamatory comments, purposely done to defame and ruin Soo Hyun’s public personality amid the Sae Ron dating scandal.
Recently, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Goldmedalist, has announced plans to take legal action against YouTuber Kim Se Eui for allegedly violating the Stalking Punishment Act.
Kim Se Eui is the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (HoverLab), who started the overall controversy. The video posted by this YouTube channel featured a lady referred to as Sae Ron’s aunt claimed that Soo Hyun was in a romantic relationship with the late actress.
As per the GOLDMEDALIST official statement, the actor has filed an additional complaint against Kim Se Eui, following the earlier legal action on April 1, 2025, when the agency first filed a complaint against Kim Se Eui for repeatedly spreading fake news and defamatory information. These actions were deemed to constitute stalking under South Korean law.
By April 22, 2025, authorities determined that Kim Se Eui's actions constituted stalking. The Seoul Central District Court granted a request for a provisional measure on April 23, 2025, ordering Kim Se Eui to stop the harmful behavior. Despite legal notices, Kim Se Eui continued to release controversial statements through his video.

Kim Se Eui's resistance to the court order makes him liable for criminal punishment under the Stalking Punishment Act, potentially facing up to 2 years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won which is approximately $14,000. In light of this, Goldmedalist and Kim Soo-hyun are pursuing further legal action. Goldmedalist and Kim Soo-hyun are taking further legal action in response to the ongoing issue.
