Samantha Ruth Prabhu is among the most successful stars in the industry. She did several hit films in both Tamil and Telugu. She has become a household name and fans love her. She made an appearance in an item song in Pushpa The Rise and won hearts with her killer dance moves. As per reports, she charged Rs 5 crore for a 5-minute appearance in song Oo Antava.
Samantha was born to Joseph and Ninette Prabhu in Chennai in 1987. She interacted with students at a university in 2022 and revealed how her parents did not have money for her higher education. “When I was studying, my mom and dad told me to study hard, and you would make it big. I studied hard. I topped 10th standard, 12th standard, and college. But then, when I wanted to study further, my parents could not afford it. I had no dreams, no future, nothing.”
The beautiful actress also said that she did not even have money for food. She added saying, “I ate one meal a day for at least two months. I worked odd jobs. And I’m here today.
In 2012, Samantha left everyone shocked when she gave up on two major projects due to her extended period of illness. She revealed to be an immunity disorder and said that her illness resurfaced in 2022. She revealed she was suffering from myositis and was undergoing extensive treatment. Samantha began dating her Ye Maaya Chesave co-star Naga Chaitanya in 2010 and the two decided to take their relationship to the next level.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot in October 2017 but their marriage lasted less than four years. Samantha raised eyebrows when she removed Chaitanya’s Akkineni surname from her social media accounts in July 2021. The couple announced their separation and parted ways in October the same year.
During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar she said, When I hit an all-time low of, well, a failed marriage, and my health and work were getting affected, it was like a triple whammy; boom, boom, boom. You know, people go down for far less than what I endured for the last two years or so.”
On the work front, Samantha was last seen in the 2023 film Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. She was also part of the 2024 Prime Video series Citadel: Honey Bunny with Varun Dhawan. She will next be seen in Maa Inti Bangaram, which is also produced under her banner, Tralala Moving Pictures. She also has Raj & DK’s Netflix series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom in her kitty.
