Kim Sae Ron's attorney Bu Ji Seok has used unfounded accusations, claiming Kim Soo Hyun had groomed Kim Sae Ron when she was just a minor.
One of the most popular actors of South Korea, Kim Soo Hyun is in the midst of controversy when the late actress Kim Sae Ron alleged that the actor dated her when she was a minor. However, the ongoing controversy is taking a turn when a formal complaint has been filed against attorney Bu Ji Seok, the legal representative of late Kim Sae Ron’s family, over alleged serious misconduct.'
A whistleblower, known only as A, filed a complaint on April 29, alleging that Bu Ji Seok was involved in the illegal handling and distribution of sensitive material related to Kim Soo Hyun.
According to a Kbizoom report, the attorney allegedly provided improper legal advice that may have contributed to the release of private content without consent. The complaint accuses him of using his legal status to validate unsubstantiated claims, damaging Kim Soo Hyun's reputation.
In the case, the most important thing that has come in front is Bu Ji Seok’s alleged promotion of unfounded accusations, including the claim that Kim Soo Hyun “groomed” Kim Sae Ron, an assertion aired during a press conference and widely circulated in online media. However, the complaint alleges that these claims, made without solid evidence, have harmed Kim Soo Hyun's public image, financial stability, and career momentum.
In response to this, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, GoldMedalist, has already filed a legal complaint against the accusations. Earlier, the agency had also filed a legal complaint against the bereaved family, controversial YouTuber Garo Sero, and a woman claiming to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt.
In the complaint, the actor had put in a 12 billion KRW lawsuit, including violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, particularly regarding the illegal distribution of imagery.
The controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun remains far from over. Two advertising agencies have reportedly filed lawsuits against Kim and his agency, seeking reimbursement of modelling fees and damages exceeding 3 billion KRW.
According to K-media reports, the two companies combined claims reportedly exceed 3 billion KRW which is approximately 2 million USD or over Rs 16 crore. In addition to the companies, other brands are also expected to jump into the legal battle. The company C will reportedly sue Kim Soo Hyun for breach of trust and others. If multiple brands join the legal battle the total amount can reach to 10 billion KRW approx Rs 60 crore.
