Shah Rukh Khan is set to make a return with the film King and fans are excited about the film.
The King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan is set to return to the screen with his new film King, which will be directed by Siddharth Anand. However, the film will also have Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles.
Deepika Padukone hasn’t confirmed it yet, but a source has revealed the news to Pinkvilla. This is the first project that she will get back to, after the birth of her daughter. The shooting is all set to commence on May 18, in Mumbai.
A close source told Pinkvilla that, “Shah Rukh Khan was always clear to have Deepika Padukone on board for King. Initially, the dates were not matching as Deepika was taking time off to be with the newborn kid, and also hitting the gym to get back in shape. Due to a delay in the schedules of King, the timelines aligned and she is back on board the film.”
According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan initially considered Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif for the film due to scheduling conflicts, but Deepika Padukone is now on board for the project.
The source further told Pinkvilla, After all the discussions, and setting the shoot timelines, everything has aligned well to have Deepika Padukone on board the film. It’s 10 to 12 days of shoot for Deepika, making it more of an extended cameo. She will be shooting for her role in October.”
The source further said, “Apart from Deepika Padukone, team King has another impactful role in the film, which warrants the presence of a senior superstar like Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, but there is no clarity on the status-quo of the same at this point of time.
According to Pinkvilla, the makers of King plan to release the film in the second half of the year, but a clearer understanding will emerge once filming starts. The shooting will start from May 18.
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have starred in several films together, including Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and Jawan. These films are a hit and people love the two.
