Stardom is not the same for all. There are stars who are known by the people they work with. Here's a story of an actress who was initially known as Tiger Shroff's heroine. It took her sometime to shed the tag and prove her mettle in the industry. The actress is none other than Kriti Sanon.
Kriti Sanon marked her debut with Tiger Shroff. Their debut film was Heropanti that paved their way into the industry. Tiger Shroff was already known in the industry due to his father Jackie Shroff. However, Kriti Sanon was an outsider who managed to impress all with her acting skills.
Heropanti released in the year 2014 and since then Kriti Sanon has witnessed a significant amount of success. But initially she was known as Tiger Shroff's heroine.
In an interview with The Indian Express, Kriti Sanon spoke about the same. She shared that it did not take her much time to get her first break. She mentioned that the director and producer treated the movie as launching two new faces and she got a quintessential Bollywood moment with the film.
Post the release of the movie, people referred to her as the one who appeared in Tiger's movie. She was quoted saying, 'However, for a while after that, people referred to me as ‘the one who appeared in Tiger Shroff’s movie.’ When you are not from the industry (film family), it takes longer for you to etch you name and face into the minds of people. At that point the kids of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, who later directed Bareilly Ki Barfi, used to call me ‘Tiger didi.’ Those were the instances when I realised I would have to work doubly hard to get people to recognise me and know me for who I am.'
Later in a podcast with Nikhil Kamath, Kriti Sanon spoke about the effects of being an outsider in the industry and not having anyone to make a call for her. She said, 'Sometimes. I don't have someone who will make a call. I had more of those moments and a little bit of frustration earlier. But it has taken me a decade to reach where I am today. Today, there's a little lesser to prove, like, 'I need to prove myself'.'
Kriti Sanon is now among the A-listers in Bollywood. She has worked with some of the top stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Prabhas, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and others.
Her recently released movie was Do Patti in which she shared the screen space with Kajol. She has also won a National Award for her performance in the movie Mimi.
