We are talking about a Bollywood actress who refused to work with Salman Khan. Yes, you read that right! In today's times, every star wishes to work with Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan. This actress refused to be cast opposite Salman in two of his films which went on to become blockbusters.
Kangana Ranaut revealed why she avoided working with the three Khans. She even claimed to share a cordial relationship with Salman. She even said that she can be accredited for serving the audience with superhit movies. She has given some cult classic songs too which are still enjoyed by all. She has ventured into politics as well.
Kangana is known for her bold statements and has always spoken her heart out without hesitating. She has been called out for her straightforward comments about several stars. In an old interview, Ranaut had revealed that she rejected Salman's films including Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Kangana expressed her inhibition about how heroine's roles get relegated to shadow or just few scenes.
She had said, “Salman offered me a role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I was like ‘Yeh kya role diya hai?’ (what is this role?). He then approached me for Sultan. I didn’t take that up. He was like, ‘What more do I offer to you now?,’” said to Siddharth Kannan. Kangana even said how despite her refusal, Salman never mistreated her rather only extended love and support towards her films. Anushka Sharma was cast opposite Khan in Sultan and Kareena Kapoor played role of his partner in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Kangana has time and again proved her versatility as an actress and impressed audiences with her roles in films. In an interview with Raj Shamani she shared her reason to not following a template of character when it comes to all the A-listers.
She said, “I refused Khan-led films. All Khans are very nice to me, they are very kind to me, and they have never misbehaved with me. Yes, there are people who have misbehaved with me but Khans were not one of them. But I said no to their films because their films are prototypes wherein the heroine will have two scenes and one song. So I said I don’t want to do that. I want to be an example of a woman who is an A-lister, the top-most actor who has not worked with Khans.
Kangana is currently serving as Member of Lok Sabha from Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh.
