Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan painted the town red with their love. In the late 90s, the two grabbed attention with their love story and many believed they would get married. But, their relationship took a sudden turn and Salman-Aishwarya parted ways. Many blamed Salman for the breakup. Now, Arbaaz Khan has revealed in an interview the real reason behind them not getting married.
Aishwarya Rai is a well-known name in the 90s and fans admired her beauty and infectious charm. She had a successful modeling career and soon made her way into Bollywood. She starred alongside Salman Khan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and the two set the screens on fire with their exceptional performances. Their on-screen chemistry shifted into a real-life romance and they started dating.
Salman was head over heels in love with Aishwarya and wanted to settle down with her. Aishwarya wanted to focus on her career and was not ready for marriage. This created tension in their bond and Salman was quite eager to take the next step in their relationship. But, Aishwarya remained unsure.
As per reports, Aishwarya’s father was reportedly not in support of her relationship with Salman due to his reputation as a casanova. Aishwarya's father was concerned about his daughter’s future and did not see Salman as her perfect partner.
According to Arbaaz, Salman’s frustration over Aishwarya's hesitation began affecting his behaviour. Within no time, he became short-tempered, and his anger got out of control. As per reports, Salman even created chaos on a film set where Aishwarya was shooting and this led to her getting replaced from the project.
Aishwarya was spending quality time with Salman Khan's family and was quite close to them. But, was uncertain about marriage which left Salman upset. Salman and Aishwarya got into fights often and their relationship eventually came to an end.
After their breakup, Aishwarya's name was linked to actor Vivek Oberoi. However, their relationship did not last for long. She fell for Abhishek Bachchan, and the two got married in 2007.
Aishwarya and Abhishek are parents to daughter Aaradhya Bachchan and are madly in love with her. Salman and Aishwarya’s past relationship is still the most talked-about love story in Bollywood history.
