Films may or may not become a hit at the box office and be a commercial success or failure. There are many films which fail at the box office but this particular film failed terribly both critically as well as commercially. However, the lead actor didn’t charge any money for the film.
In the movie Selfiee (2023) which starred Akshay Kumar struggled to deliver a hit at the box office. His films like Raksha Bandhan and Ram Settu failed terribly both critically as well as commercially and the slump continued with the movies Selfiee.
In a recent interview, Selfiee producer Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed how much the actor charged for the film. He said that Akshay Kumar refused to take any fees for the project.

While speaking to Pinkvilla, Prithviraj said, “I have produced a film with Akshay Kumar, sir. He did not take a single rupee. He only said, ‘If the film makes money, then I’ll take my remuneration.’ The film did not do well, and he did not take any money.”
The comedy-drama film was directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Dharma Productions, Magic Frames, Prithviraj Productions and Cape of Good Films. The movie is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving Licence.
It features Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles, alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha, Diana Penty, Mahesh Thakur, Meghna Malik, Abhimanyu Singh, and Adah Sharma in supporting roles.

The film is about an RTO inspector, Om Prakash, who has the opportunity of a lifetime to meet his idol, Vijay Kumar. However, a misunderstanding between the two men results in a clash of egos.
Despite a budget of Rs 100 crore, the film received mixed-to-negative reviews and ultimately flopped at the box office, grossing only Rs 24.6 crore worldwide. It was theatrically released on 24 February 2023.
