Sonam Kapoor was born on June 9, 1985 to Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor.
Sonam did her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir and completed her high school at the United World College of East Asia in Singapore, where she learned Theater Arts and Chinese History. She has also majored in Political Science and Economics from Bombay University.
Sonam started her career in Bollywood as an assistant to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Black, and later on went on to make her debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Bhansali’s Saawariya. Her repertoire of films include Delhi 6, I Hate Luv Storys, Aisha, Mausam, Players and Thank You. She is working on four upcoming movies – Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Anand Rai’s Raanjhnaa, Yash Raj Films’ next opposite Ayushmann Khurrana and the remake of Khoobsurat.
