Nirmal Kapoor, mother of Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, and producer Boney Kapoor died on Friday, May 2. Currently, the Kapoor family is suffering a huge loss after the demise of Nirmal Kapoor.
The 90-year-old was the widow of producer Surinder Kapoor and grandmother of Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor. As per the news reports, Nirmal passed away due to age-related illness and was admitted at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. She passed away on Friday evening, at 5:45 PM. As per reports, Nirmal was not keeping well for a few months and was visiting hospital. She is survived by three sons, a daughter and their families.

She had celebrated her 90th birthday in September 2024 and Kapoors had shared a happy family picture. Anil Kapoor shared wished his mother on Instagram with the caption, “90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day. Blessed to be your child. Happy birthday, Mummy!" As per reports, Janhvi Kapoor and her rumoured boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya rushed to Anil Kapoor’s residence after the demise news. Videos from Anil Kapoor’s residence have been going viral on the social media. One video shows Boney Kapoor, his daughter Anshula Kapoor, and other family members gathered together. Another clip is of Shikhar Pahariya rushing. Rhea Kapoor’s husband Karan Boolani was also present at the residence. Nirmal Kapoor’s husband, producer Surinder Kapoor died in September 2011, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
