Five years after her death, Disha Salian's father has approached the Bombay High Court to seek a fresh investigation in his daughter's case. Disha's father, Satish Salian, claims that his daughter was allegedly raped and murdered and it was covered up to protect influential people. He wants the case to be transferred to the CBI. Disha had worked with several Bollywood celebrities, including Sushant Singh Rajput.
For the unversed, Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after she reportedly fell from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. At that time, the Mumbai Police registered the case as an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and treated it as a suicide of accidental fall. However, her father, Satish Salian, has now claimed that his daughter was "brutally raped and murdered."

As reported by the Times of India, Satish Salian alleges that the Mumbai Police didn't do a fair investigation into his daughter's death and "worked under pressure to protect certain high-profile individuals". His probe to the HC also mentions Kishori Pednekar's name, stating that she misguided him to file a complaint against Nitesh Rane. Rane, a politician, was one of the people who was demanding justice for Disha back then.
Disha Salian's father's plea mentioned, "Mumbai Police hastily closed the death as a case of suicide or accidental death without taking into account forensic evidence, circumstantial proofs and eyewitness testimonies." Satish's petition to the HC also orders the registration of a First Information Report against Aaditya Thackeray, Shiv Sena UBT leader. Further, the petition also demands custodial interrogation of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray. Salian alleges that Aditya and some Bollywood stars and Kishori Pednekar have played roles in covering up the truth about his daughter's death.
Yogesh Kadam, Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Home, has reacted to Satish Salian's petition and said if he has any evidence, he should submit it to the Home Department.
Satish Salian's lawyer Nilesh Ojha stated that they are almost finalising the petition with the Bombay High Court and said, "We expect the court to take cognisance of the matter soon."
