Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14, 2020, in his Mumbai flat. Initially touted as a case of suicide due to depression, it later stirred a murder mystery. For starters, no CCTV footage of Sushant's building was operational on the unfortunate day. It has been stated that Sushant could not have hanged himself from the fan as the distance between the fan and bed was too much, and reportedly, there was no stool in the house that the actor could have used. Despite CBI's investigation, closure remains elusive, and the case is still ongoing.
Jiah Khan
Jiah Khan was found dead on June 3, 2013. At the time of her reported suicide by hanging, her mother and sister were not present at home. A few days after her death, a six-page letter was discovered in which Jiah mentioned that Sooraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi and with whom she was in a relationship, physically and emotionally abused her. While the CBI has acquitted Pancholi from Jiah Khan's case due to lack of evidence, British forensics expert, Jason Payne-James, who was independently hired by Jiah's mother to investigate the case, stated that Jiah's hanging was staged, and the marks on her face and neck indicate her death was not a case of suicide.
Sridevi
On February 24, 2018, Sridevi reportedly died by accidental drowning. Sridevi was in Al Jazirah Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, for a family wedding. While most of the guests, including Boney Kapoor, flew back to their respective cities after the wedding, Sridevi chose to stay as she wanted to shop for her elder daughter's birthday. As reported by Boney, he returned to Dubai on February 24, 2024, and visited the hotel where Sridevi was staying. They had a chat for 30 minutes. Sridevi went inside the bathroom to freshen up. When she didn't return even after 15 to 20 minutes, Boney went into the washroom and saw Sridevi lying in the bathtub.

Kapoor's brother, Sanjay Kapoor, stated Sridevi died due to cardiac arrest. However, Dubai Public later stated that the cause of death was accidental drowning. To this day, the mystery surrounding Sridevi's death remains unresolved as to how she could drown in a hotel's bathtub.

Silk Smitha
Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati, also known as Silk Smitha, was considered one of the most erotic actresses of South Indian cinema in the 1980s. She was found dead on September 22, 1996. It was stated that the actress returned to her hotel after a movie shoot and contacted her friend Anuradha to discuss something that had been haunting her for many days. However, later in the morning, she was found dead by hanging in her hotel room.
The police recovered a suicide note from her after a few months, which could not be deciphered. Her death till today remains a mystery whether it was actually suicide or murder.
Parveen Babi
Veteran actress Parveen Babi was found dead on January 22, 2005. A society member called the police when Parveen didn't collect her groceries and newspapers for the past three days. When the police opened the door, they found Parveen Babi's body. Police suspected that the actress had been dead for more than 72 hours. According to the post-mortem at Cooper Hospital, there were no traces of food in her stomach, indicating that she had not consumed anything for more than three days and, as a consequence, starved to death.
The police determined she succumbed to total organ failure and diabetes. However, it is stated that in her last days, the actress always feared that someone was going to kill her. Also, the actress's financial condition was decent enough to hire household help to take care of herself and even afford good food or proper medical assistance. Hence, the way the actress died raises a lot of eyebrows.
Divya Bharti
On April 5, 1993, Divya Bharti bid adieu to the world forever. She apparently fell from the balcony window of her fifth-floor apartment. What raises mysterious eyebrows is that the incident happened in the presence of Neeta Lulla, who came to visit Divya at her house. It was reported that Divya's death is connected to underworld mafias. However, Divya's father denied any conspiracy behind her death

Guru Dutt
Indian film director Guru Dutt left for heavenly abode on October 10, 1964. Whether his death was a suicide or accidental death is something that still remains unsolved. However, his son Arun stated that his father's death was an accident. He mentioned that his father used to consume alcohol as well as sleeping pills. He may have had an overdose of sleeping pills which resulted in his death. Many still feel that there's a hidden mystery behind Guru Dutt's death.
Kunal Singh
Largely known for the film Kadhalar Dhinam, Kunal Singh was found hanging from the ceiling in his Mumbai apartment by actress Lavina Bhatia on February 7, 2008. However, Kunal's father suspected that his son was murdered, as his body had some signs of bruises. Lavina was also arrested related to the actor's death case but was later released due to lack of evidence. Although the CBI closed the case as suicide, Kunal's father never agreed with CBI's judgment.
