Born in Mumbai on March 14, 1965, Aamir Khan is Bollywood’s leading actor. Of late Aamir has also made his mark as a distinguished director and a successful producer. Aamir Khan was born into a Muslim family that has been actively involved in the Indian film industry, roughly called Bollywood for several decades. Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan started his career as a child actor in his uncle Nasir Hussain’s film Yadon Ki Baaraat in 1973 and also worked in the 1974 film Madhosh. As an adult, he made his debut in Ketan Mehta’s 1984 film Holi. Aamir Khan became an overnight star with his first full-fledged leading role in the 1988 Bollywood film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. At the young age of 24, Aamir won his first National award for his intense performance in the 1989 film Raakh. In the late '80s and '90s, Aamir delivered the highest-grossing films. Dil (1990), Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi (1991,) Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), and Rangeela (1995) established himself as the promising star of Bollywood. Though these Bollywood films marked Aamir’s meteoric rise and made him one of the most bankable stars the talented actor had to wait before he bagged his first Filmfare award in the Best Actor Category in 1996 for his portrayal of an innocent village dweller in Dharmesh Darshan’s film Raja Hindustani (1996).
