The bungalow has been gifted to Big B by filmmaker Ramesh Sippy after the big success of the movie, Satte Pe Satta. The name of the bungalow was originally Mehboob but was later changed to Jalsa. Amitabh Bachchan has another bungalow near Jalsa and that is called Prateeksha. Amitabh Bachchan has a total of five bungalows in Mumbai.
