Inside Saif Ali Khan’s Rs 800 crore Pataudi Palace: Bollywood’s popular filming destination
Saif Ali Khan's royal Pataudi palace has always been the most talked about thing. It is a grand Rs 800 crore property where many popular films and web series have been shot.
Saif Ali Khan has been in the news. He was recently stabbed by an intruder with a knife at his residence. The actor went through surgery and returned home from the hospital yesterday. Since then, a lot has been said about the actor. His royal Pataudi palace is also in the news. The Pataudi Palace, also known as Ibrahim Kothi, is a true architectural marvel located in the town of Pataudi in Gurgaon district, Haryana. The property is worth Rs 800 crores and spread over 10 acres. The construction of the royal palace began in 1900. It was designed by British architect Robert Tor Russell and Australian architect Carl Moltiz Von Hentz. The construction was finally completed in 1935 by Iftikhar Ali Khan, the last ruling Nawab of Pataudi.
The beauty of Pataudi palace
After his father’s demise, Saif Ali Khan owns the Pataudi palace. However, Saif had to buy it back from Neemrana Hotels, which had leased and operated it as a luxury property until 2014. As per the Architectural Digest, the Pataudi Palace has about 150 rooms, including seven bedrooms, seven dressing rooms, seven billiard rooms, a large dining area, an outdoor pool, a separate farming area, and multi-purpose rooms. It has vintage chandeliers, antique furniture, beautiful artworks, royal ceilings, royal domes and much more. Saif oftens visits here with Kareena Kapoor Khan and family.
Films shot at Pataudi palace
The royal property has also been used in films. Many films have been shot here. Recently, we saw Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal being shot here.

Tandav
Saif Ali Khan’s web series Tandav was also shot in the Pataudi palace. The series released in 2021 and also featured Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Dimple Kapadia, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Dino Morea and Anup Soni.
Rang De Basanti
Rang De Basanti starring Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor and others was also shot at Saif’s royal property.
Mangal Pandey
Aamir Khan’s Mangal Pandey was also shot in the Pataudi palace. Not the entire film but some scenes of the film have been shot there.

Veer Zaara
Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta’s film, Veer Zaara was also a big hit. The song, Main Yahaan Hoon from the movie was shot in the palace.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan
Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan starrer Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was also shot in Saif Ali Khan’s royal palace. The film was released in 2011.
