Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma is an Indian actress and former model who appears in Hindi films. In 2008, she was signed by Aditya Chopra for a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films and made her acting debut in Chopra's Rab ne Bana di Jodi. She has since worked with two other Bollywood Khan superstars. With Aamir Khan in 'PK' and Salman Khan in 'Sultan', both films are among the highest-grossing films. Shee has worked with many leading actors of Bollywood, with Shahid Kapoor in 'Badmaash Company', Ranveer Singh in 'Band Baja Baaraat' and 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl', Akshay Kumar in 'Patiala House' and 'Bombay Velvet' and In 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', she appeared alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Shee has also produced 'NH10', 'Phillauri' and 'Pari' films through her production company Clean Slate Films. She has designed her own clothing line for women and advertised with many top brands. As a philanthropist, she supports gender equality and animal rights.

She received critical appreciation for portraying a vivacious wedding planner in the romantic comedy Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) opposite Ranveer Singh. Both Bollywood films fetched her best actress nominations at the Filmfare awards ceremony.

Anushka Sharma was born on 1 May 1988 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh state in India. His father Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma is an army officer and his mother Ashima Sharma a housewife. His father is a resident of Uttar Pradesh while his mother is from home. His elder brother Carnesh Sharma is a producer who was earlier in the Merchant Navy. Before joining the Navy, Carnesh also played cricket for the Bangalore Ranji team.

Sharma grew up in Bangalore. He studied at Army School and earned a degree in Art from Mount Carmel College. Actually, she wanted to pursue a career in modeling and journalism and she was not interested in becoming an actress. After graduation, Sharma moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in modeling. And he enrolled himself in Elite Model Management and was taught by style consultant Prasad Bidapa. In 2007, Sharma performed the first runway (ramp walk) for designer Wendell Rodrik at the Lakme Fashion Week. After this, he also campaigned for Fiat Palio on many brands like Silk & Shine, Whisper, Nathella Jewellers. After this, Sharma also joined an acting school and started auditioning for many Bollywood film roles.
