But meet Raj Kapoor's daughter who chose to keep herself away from the world of glamour. However, she made a name for herself in the world of business. We are talking about Ritu Nanda.
Ritu Nanda was reportedly a top LIC agent. Before stepping into the world of insurance, Ritu Nanda tried her hands at kitchen appliances business. However, that failed and she started selling insurance policies.
Ritu Nanda had also set a Guinness World Record by selling 17,000 pension policies in one single day. As reported by Mint, she had also started her own venture called - Ritu Nanda Insurance Services. She was also awarded Best Insurance Advisor of the Decade.
Back in 1980, she took this bold step of venturing into insurance. As reported by NDTV, her decision was doubted and many made fun of it too. However, nothing shook her determination.
As per reports, Ritu Nanda shared about her challenges and triumphs in the book ‘The Voyage of Excellence: The Ascent of 21 Women Leaders of India INC’. She was one of the greatest achievers and leaders in her field.
In 2006, she was invited by the Million Dollar Round Table- a prestigious Global organisation of top insurance agents. She was reportedly the first woman to receive this honour.
Ritu Nanda was married to Rajan Nanda - the former owner of Escorts. Nikhil Nanda and Nitasha Nanda are their children. Amitabh Bachchan's daughter Shweta Bachchan is married to Nikhil Nanda.
Ritu Nanda passed away at the age of 71 in the year 2020. She was reportedly suffering from cancer. Amitabh Bachchan and many others had mourned the loss.
