In a recent interview, Katrina Kaif revealed that she was replaced in a film just after one day of shooting. The film was none other than Saaya which was directed by Anurag Basu and was released in 2003.
The film featured Tara Sharma in place of Katrina with other cast including Mahima Chaudhry, Harsh Chhaya, John Abraham, Rajendranath Zutshi and others. The film was crafted with multiple romantic songs including O Saathiya, Aai Jo Teri Yaad and Aye Meri Zindagi.
Mahesh Bhatt produced film Saaya is a thriller romance film that revolves around Akash and Maya, two doctors who are madly in love and happily married. The couple was expecting a baby but things take a turn when Maya faces an accident and is believed to be dead.
In the interview Katrina revealed her situation after replacement. She said, “At that time, I thought my life was over. I thought my career was over.” She further talked about rejection and said, “Everyone faces rejection, and as an actor, you have to develop that resilience if you want to succeed.”
Katrina also shared that someone harshly criticized her acting abilities, saying she had nothing valuable to offer. Despite feeling devastated, she remained determined to achieve her goal of becoming a leading actress.
Expressing her emotions, Katrina said, “I cried then too, so crying helps. But then you hold onto the vision you have, you work hard, and you’ve got to be resilient.”
