Singireddy Naga Ashwin, also known as Nag Ashwin is the brain behind the making of Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Nag Ashwin was born on 23 April 1986 in Hyderabad his father is Jayaram and his mother is Jayanti Reddy. His family is a doctor. The director wanted to follow a different path and he studied mass communication.
He also did a course in direction from The New York Film Academy and later started working with Ajay Shastri. Within no time, he assisted Ajay Shastri in the film Nenu Meeku Telusa.
Till date, Nag Ashwin made only three films in his career and made his debut as a director in 2015. Yevade Subramanyam was his first film which starred Vijay Deverakonda.
The film became a hit at the box office and spilled magic on the audience. Nag Ashwin also made Mahanati in 2018 and his third film was Kalki 2898 AD. Kalki 2898 AD was made on a budget of 600 crores and it managed to cross Rs 1000 crores worldwide.
He is married to the popular producer of South Indian cinema Priyanka Dutt. She popular producer Priyanka Dutt. She is the founder of ‘The Angels Studio’. Did you know, Priyanka's short film Yaadon Ki Baaraat premiered at the Cannes Film Festival?
Priyanka and Nag met during an advertisement project and soon became friends. The two fell for each other and when Priyanka told Nag that she was getting marriage proposals. He asked her for marriage and the two tied the knot in 2015. They are parents to a son Rishi. Nag Ashwin’s father-in-law is Ashwini Dutt is the biggest producer of Telugu cinema. Their biggest production house Vaijanti Movies was started in 1974 and Ashwini Dutt worked with this production house for 5 decades. He has produced 40 films and also contested elections on behalf of Telugu Desam Party in 2004.'[
