For some time, Ritu Nanda ventured into the movies. She was the first woman from the Kapoor family to enter the world of showbiz.
However, it was Karisma Kapoor who made acting her full-fledged career from the age of 16. She made her debut with the film Pre Qaidi in 1991.
Karisma Kapoor had full support from her mother, Babita Kapoor, when she pursued acting. During the 90s, the actress ruled the hearts with her fawless performances and delivered several box office hits.
Such was Karisma's popularity that she worked with all three Khans – Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and several other leading male stars including Akshay Kumar. She also shared the screen space with Govinda and their jodi was lauded by many.
Some of her hit films are Raja Hindustani, Dil To Pagal Hai, Judwaa, Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Haseena Maan Jayegi and many more. Karisma was also lauded for her flawless dance moves and impeccable fashion choices.
For her performance in Dil To Pagal Hai, Karisma Kapoor also won a National Award in the Best Supporting Actress category. The film also had also featured Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
Thanks to Karisma Kapoor, it paved the way for Kareena Kapoor to enter the film industry. While Karisma ruled the 90s, Bebo has been one of the top actresses since she entered Bollywood in the early 2000s.
