There is one such film which was made with a huge budget and didn’t do well in theaters, and is now making waves on OTT. It has even secured a spot in the top 10 trending list. After its failed theatrical run, the movie is getting a great response on streaming platforms.
The movie we are talking about is Game Changer was released in theaters on January 10, 2025. This Telugu-language political action drama film was directed by S. Shankar, in his Telugu debut, and produced by Dil Raju.
The film stars Ram Charan, alongside Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram and Samuthirakani. Game Changer was one of the most awaited films of 2025.
The plot centers around Ram Nandan, a government official, who embarks on a relentless fight against corrupt politicians. Determined to bring about fair elections, he tries to revolutionise the way the government operates.
The film was made with a budget of Rs 300 crore but things didn’t go as planned. The box office collection was estimated to be Rs 178 crore. However, after its theatrical run, Game Changer has gained popularity on OTT.
The movie had entered the top 10 trending list and trended at number three in India on ZEE5, where it was recently released in Hindi. The film has received an IMDb rating of 5.5 out of 10.
As per The Indian Express, the film was released on 8,000 screens, but within eight days, 7,000 shows were canceled due to low audience turnout. Despite the grand scale, Game Changer was a massive box-office failure.
