Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj made a decent run at the box office and is now set for its premiere on OTT. The action adventure film revolves around a daring robber who sets out on the mission to establish his own territory fighting against the powerful adversaries.
Nandamuri plays the lead role in the film that is supported by an interesting cast including Urvashi Rautela, Bobby Deol (in his Telugu debut). However, the film was in limelight with several controversies including Urvashi Rautela statement and Nandamuri dance.
Urvashi Rautela is known for making headlines through her controversial statements and posts including her insensitive comment on Saif Ali Khan. Yet again, the actor found herself in the spotlight with her cryptic Instagram note about Kiara Advani’s Game Changer.
With the release of her film ‘Daaku Maharaaj.’ Urvashi made the news with her remarks on box office performances of Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer. Urvashi compared the two films and said, “Shankar sir is a very celebrated director. I have worked with him before too in Indian 2.”
She further added, “I think ye pura hi game change ho gaya because obviously woh film ka bhi bohot zaada hype tha. But I think ki agar Kiara Advani ki Game Changer disaster hui hai and Meri Daaku Maharaaj blockbuster hit hogayi hai, then it’s not my mistake. I feel, ‘kyun yeh tweets wagera horahi hai.” Urvashi’s comment on the film sparked massive backlash and people called it her arrogance.
Daaku Maharaaj also faced a lot of heat from the viewers for its song Dabidi Dibidi because of its choreography and age gap. After the release of the much awaited song, viewers felt that the steps performed by the actors were vulgar.
Daaku Maharaaj became the talk of the town with its cast, choreography and age gaps. But a video went viral on the internet, according to which the 64-years-old actor Nandamuri was seen eyeing Urvashi in her introduction scene.
Urvashi looked uncomfortable dancing alongside her on-screen partner. The video went viral wherein Urvashi and Nandamuri recreated the Dabidi Dibidi dance moves where the actress looked awkward. Netizens criticized Nandamuri's act and asked him to stop forcing himself on her.
Nandamuri yet again made headlines with another viral video in which he was seen holding the hands of the actress while talking to her . The internet slammed his action and called him out for his inappropriate gesture.
As per reports the film Daaku Maharaaj that features Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal Shraddha Srinath along with Nandamuri and Urvashi collected Rs 90.39 crores in 26 days. After its decent run at box office, the film is about to make its premier on OTT.
