This actress is born in Toronto to an Indian father and a Polish mother. She started her modelling career in the early 1990s in India.
Her modelling gained her a lot of attention and got her a Bombay Dyeing advertisement and a Gladrags magazine cover. We are talking about Lisa Ray.
Lisa Ray made her Bollywood debut with the film Kasoor in 2001. Her performance was well-received despite her Hindi lines being dubbed. Lisa also appeared in several international films. Some of her foreign films include the Oscar-nominated Water (2005) and The World Unseen (2007).
Sadly, in 2009, Lisa Ray was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare and incurable blood cancer, and began sharing her journey through a blog called The Yellow Diaries.
In 2010, Lisa underwent a stem cell transplant and revealed that she was cancer-free. However, multiple myeloma remains an incurable disease. In 2012, Lisa married management consultant Jason Dehni, and in 2018, they welcomed twin daughters via surrogacy.
Lisa Ray continues to act, with her recent project being the Amazon Prime series Four More Shots Please! She is also active as a philanthropist and does cancer awareness campaigns.
