RENUKA SHAHANE

Biography : Renuka Shahane is a television and film actress. Renuka first gained popularity as the presenter of Surabhi (1993–2001) Doordarshan TV show. Her notable TV serials were Imtihaan and Circus where she portrayed the love interest of then relatively unknown Shah Rukh Khan's character. Shahane started her career with the Marathi film Hach Sunbaicha Bhau and has done many Marathi Films. She became popular after her role as Madhuri Dixit's elder sister in the 1994 blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!. She released her first Marathi film as a director called Rita an adaptation of her mother Shanta Gokhale's novel, Rita Welingkar. Renuka played the pivotal role of a friend, guide and philosopher of Rita, the main protagonist. In recent times Renuka has done a few TV serials like Mrs. Madhuri Dixit, Kora Kaagaz as well as played the role of judge and presenter of various Marathi shows. Renuka Shahane is married to actor Aushtosh Rana.
