Biography : Lady Gaga is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Her real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. She started her acting career from the stage before pursuing a career in music (after being noticed by singer/rapper Akon). She made her debut as a singer with the album The Fame in 2008. The two tacks from the album, ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Poker Face’, were smash hits. Her subsequent albums were The Fame Monster (2009) and Artpop (2013). Lady Gaga is known and talked about her eccentric ways and outlandish sense of dressing. Her achievements in the music industry include five Grammy Awards, 13 MTV Video Music Awards and 11 Guinness World Records, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Lady Gaga is also actively involved in charity work such as helping people who have suffered the consequences of natural disasters. She also founded the non-profit organization Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) that focuses on youth empowerment and issues such as the building of self-confidence, well-being, mentoring and career development.
