And now ending the wait of fans, Alia, Shefali and Vijay Varma brings to us the trailer of Alia’s maiden production. The 2-minute-34 second trailer shows Alia, Shefali and Vijay in a never-seen before avatar in the dark comedy.
The 2-minute-34 second trailer shows Alia and Shefali lodging a missing complaint for Vijay Varma. However, there is a twist. Alia is not as innocent as she looks and the trailer shows how she has been facing domestic violence and is determined to give the same treatment to her husband, Humza aka Vijay Varma.
It reveals that Hamza isn’t missing at all, but has been held hostage by Badru and his mother-in-law at his house. The two were presumably aided in their mission by an accomplice, played by Roshan Mathew. Through flashbacks — there’s a lot happening here — we’re told that Hamza was abusive towards Badru, and this is her revenge. For the film’s tone, it appears that debutant director Jasmeet K. Reen is attempting to blend irreverent humor with some heavy themes.
Movie Story
Darlings revolves around a couple Badrunissa (Alia) and Hamza (Vijay) in Mumbai, who pretend to be madly in love, hiding the reality of their relationship behind closed doors. Badrunissa is a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her husband Hamza, who soon goes missing. Badrunissa and her mother (Shefali) come under the radar as prime suspects, as they seem to have either kidnapped or killed Hamza to avenge his ways.
